Can a pretty woman come between best friends?
TxMike19 August 2008
Warning: Spoilers
The cabbies are at Mario's, their usual hangout, when a pretty girl, Constance Forslund as Janet, walks in, takes off her coat, and sits at the bar. Immediately Tony and Bobby, "best friends", start arguing who saw her first, because both of them wanted to ask her out. They noticed that she didn't have any rings so reasoned, correctly, that she was unattached.

Alex steps in to avoid a scene as the two guys argue, and suggests flipping a coin to see which one would get to ask her out. In a final compromise, because neither guy would budge, they agree to BOTH ask her out.

It must have worked, because the next week at the garage both of them announce that they had a great time and Janet is wonderful. Now what to do? Alex is getting upset because both of them borrow money from him to take her to ever increasingly expensive places to impress. Alex comments, "I've never spent so much on a woman." When the two friends tell Latka that they are dating the same woman, his response was "Can I meet her?" So the episode is about how the guys will settle this "race." SPOILERS: So at the urging of Alex, Tony, Bobby, and Janet meet at Mario's to discuss the issue with the goal for her to pick one of them. So she gets ready to and both say "Not so fast, give it some thought", because she seemed to be happy going out with both of them. Then, after she thought about it, and was about to reveal her choice, both men worried that it would beak up their friendship, so told her NOT to choose. Neither of them would go out with her. To get a measure of satisfaction she said, "The one I would have chosen was going to get the time of his life with me tonight, one he would never forget", as both men broke out in sweaty desire. Then, as she turned to leave, said "I would have picked Bobby." But it was too late.
