According to Sam Simon, Jeff Conaway got high on cocaine just before filming and was unable to perform all of his scenes. Conaway's scenes were quickly rewritten and Conaway was fired at the end of the season.
Tony's manager is named Lou Lou Pantusso. On Cheers (1982), the Coach's real name is Ernie Pantusso. Both series were directed and written by James Burrows and Glen Charles & Les Charles, respectively.
