- A month after Eric's departure for Africa, Kitty reads a tape to him with a polished version of how the basement boys' weed stash was found and tested by her, she even tricks Red into saying he misses his son. Charlie's initiation on the water-tower ends with the customary fall- but another result then when Kelso repeats his. Despite being cruelly punched by Hyde -as he feared all that time- and Jacky, Kelso sweetly tries to reconcile them. By the time they're ready, Hyde gets a surprise visit from a memorable person he forgot all about since Las Vegas.—KGF Vissers
- It's a month since Eric (Topher Grace) left for Africa and Hyde (Danny Masterson) disappeared in Chicago. Kitty (Debra Jo Rupp) & Donna (Laura Prepon) are preparing a tape to send to Eric. They narrate the incidents of the last month, while capturing the current events as well.
Kitty confesses over the tape to sampling some of the guys' stash. Red & Kitty found 4 bags in the basement while cleaning out after Eric left. Hyde blamed all the stashes on Eric. Kitty smokes one before she flushes everything down the toilet. She hallucinates while Red and Hyde give her a stern talking to. Hyde tells Kitty that when the smoke hits the brain, the cells start dying and this process impairs judgment, and causes hallucinations. Red wonders if Kitty turned to drugs because of Eric leaving. He says that he would have made her a martini. Kitty claims that she wanted to see what the fuss was all about. Donna reminds her that she ate a whole box of uncooked spaghetti.
The day after Eric left, Red danced around half the house, deliriously happy and threw out all of Eric's Star Wars toys (which Kitty tells Eric on tape, were donated to the church). Red refuses to say anything nice to Eric on tape. Every time Kitty gives him the microphone Red riles about how bad Eric was at sports, or how he killed Eric's GI Joes by throwing them in the dumpster. But Kitty tricks Red into saying into the microphone that he misses Eric. Kitty hide the microphone under the sheets and tells Red that at least he can admit to her in private that he loves Eric. Red falls for it.
Kelso (Ashton Kutcher) now claims he didn't actually have sex with Jackie (Mila Kunis), who's just back and furious with him. Jackie tells Kelso that they are not back together and the only reason she is back in Point Place is to find Hyde and get back with him. Hyde returns (apparently, he was in Las Vegas) and punches Kelso really hard in the face. Jackie comes by and finds that Hyde has returned and also reiterates that she never slept with Kelso. But Hyde says that he saw Kelso naked in Jackie's room, with a bucket of ice.
Kitty tells Eric on tape that Charlie (Bret Harrison) fell from the water tower - and died (thus eliminating himself from the role of replacement Eric). He had gone to the water tower with Kelso, Donna and Fez. He fell when he leaned against the railing, which came apart due to his weight. The tower is now known as the Charlie Richardson Memorial Tower.
Donna tries to convince Jackie and Hyde only needed to blow off some steam and that they are not over. Jackie hears (from Kelso) Hyde was intending to propose in Chicago and tries to make up. Hyde says he's not ready to get married yet - just in time for the arrival of Sam (Jud Tylor), who announces she and Hyde are already married. Sam is an exotic dancer that Hyde met in Vegas. Jackie is disgusted and leaves.
