I vaguely remember this being the first episode of the series I saw on its original BBC broadcast and feeling slightly disappointed. The reason was because I compared it to Blackadder instead of judging it on its own merit.
I have seen Rag Week several times over the years and appreciate it more now. Yes the material is not on par with Blackadder, but the likes of Rowan Atkinson, David Haig and James Dreyfus are incredibly good, and lift it with their hilarious performances.
The concept of what happens in the bank is the highlight for me and Atkinson is fantastic. I also love the earlier scene involving both he and Dreyfus bantering in the queue.
For me it's a 7.5/10, but I round upwards.
