Good night, Sherry.

Mr. Roper is going out of town on a business trip, and Mrs. Roper is scared by the idea of being alone in her apartment. Janet is roped into staying with her overnight, while Jack & Chrissy will have the kids' apartment to themselves. Janet worries that shameless girl chaser Jack will "try something" while she's away, but when Jack ends up behaving like a gentleman, Chrissy worries that she's losing her sex appeal.

A pleasant, and at times very funny, but not uproarious episode. 'Alone Together' gets off to a good start with an early scene in which Jack casually dismisses the exercises that Janet & Chrissy are doing. When Jack attempts to get into the "Lotus position", and then can't get out of it, it leads to some hilarity. John Ritter could do no wrong when it came to this kind of physical comedy.

Key to the episodes' success, though, is the way that it portrays Jack. For all his girl chasing, he IS a fundamentally decent guy, and takes it to heart when he learns that Chrissy is upset. In the end, he makes her feel good about herself again.

Meanwhile, Roper gets into some trouble when the sleazy con-artists trying to sell him some desert property throw a wild party, and he's assumed to be one of the revelers instead of the guy who called to complain. Like so many guys, even Roper can be a sucker for an attractive young woman.

Guest starring Sondra Currie (the "Hangover" series) as the sexy Sherry Lee, and character actors Stuart Nisbet ("Casino") and Will MacMillan (the original "The Crazies").

Seven out of 10.
