Hoby saves a man from a bear trap and instead of gratitude, the man hits Hoby over the head and sticks Hoby in the same trap. Turns out the man is trying to reclaim his wife from her grandfather, an old mountain man from another area. Think Hugh Glass from The Revenant. This time instead of DiCaprio, we have the veteran character actor Chill Wills. And the mountain man's grand daughter is a very young Rita Moreno. An interesting episode featuring one actor in his twilight and another just starting out. The grand daughter at least learns some valuable lessons: her husband is a brute, and her brutish grandfather isn't so bad. Fun for the older viewing watching this on GRIT, but probably just passable for a younger audience.

It's okay...

Hoby is a nice guy, so nice that he frees the murderer's leg from a bear trap. The trouble is that Hoby didn't know the stranger was a murderer. The stranger, to show his gratitude, hits Hoby over the head, steals his gun and horse, and put his leg in the bear trap. Hoby soon learns that the man is coming back to take the granddaughter of Hoby's savior...But is that really what he's coming back for?
There weren't too many characters in this episode. It just took place in the woods for the most part and was pretty predictable as to what was going to happen. I'll give it an 8 because it's Trackdown, but nothing special here...
