- On a space mission, two astronauts land on a distant planet to make repairs to their ship. The astronauts (William Fletcher and Peter Craig) are two men who are at odds with each other. As Fletcher makes repairs, Craig scouts the terrain, and finds a miniature city, with inhabitants no bigger than ants.
Craig soon becomes enamored playing god over the little persons, destroying some of their miniature structures to make himself seem all-powerful. He even forces the little people to build a life-size (to his stature) statue of himself. Once Fletcher has made repairs, he informs his partner that they can leave. However, Craig having become mad with power, forces Fletcher to leave without him, wanting to be the only god over the little people.
Fletcher takes off, and Craig relishes his reign, but not for very long. Suddenly, two spacemen appear, though they are enormous compared to Craig. One of them picks Craig up, but accidentally ends up crushing him. The one spaceman sets Craig back down before he and his comrade wander off to repair their ship.
After the death of their cruel god, the little people can be heard rejoicing as they pull down the statue they made, which crumples and breaks as it falls over Craig's lifeless body.
