Mr. Floppy, the genius of this show, and, indeed, television's most colorful character, seems to have been "in for adjustments" after the First Season. I don't know what happened to the little guy, who is, by the way, My Hero, well, it's him and Al Bundy from MARRIED WITH CHILDREN... but anyway, when Season Two started (previous outing "Jack Moves Back") Floppy sported what looked like a black mask. He also moved differently. The show, for me, suffered because of that, My Little Hero was oddly alien to what I am used to.
Well, I am happy to report that the new look was instantly discarded. Sadly, Mr. Floppy is still not up to scratch. He noticeably moves more, well, LIKE A COMMON EVERYDAY PUPPET. We're way off the Season One standard here. At least there is an improvement, maybe his performance will get back to its former level again.
Whatever caused this discrepancy, we would possibly never know. But check out "Hoop Dreams" then "Jack Moves Back" and then this one, to see the evolution of our favorite bunny.
Of course, as long as Nikki Cox is there, I will be satisfied. In this episode, Ryan throws a spanner into Tiffany's works by tampering with the bathroom scales, and she, a mere slip of a thing, now sees herself as fat. This comes after the zit that she discovers blemishing her face, spoils her perfect looks, the zit that we cannot even see, for it is so insignificant. But in her mind, it is a behemoth engulfing the school. Her entire self-worth collapses, and she now sits there with the uncool losers. Jack is torn by having to do the right thing, should he blow the whistle on Ryan, who for once, has done something right, nasty as it is? Or rescue his daughter from her own self-hatred?
It has more than its share of mistakes, even somewhat sloppy editing, with abrupt seguing of scenes, but that's nitpicking. A whole lot of fun, as usual, as always, from the team producing something a whole lot different from anything else (not counting MARRIED WITH CHILDREN of course)...
