Sparks fly in the Nursery!
arrival25 July 2010
Warning: Spoilers
June 1909 Elizabeth gives birth and comes home with a baby daughter, 'Lucy'.

Sarah, now Nursery Maid, is under the impression that she, and only she will be in charge of looking after baby Lucy, and the Nursery. To her dismay and the horror of the other servants, an old 'Nanny' is to be called out of retirement for the task!

Richard Bellamy comments that he feels the house starting to tremble - even before she arrives...!

This is one of the very best episodes of 'Upstairs, Downstairs' five year run - and probably the best of this second season. Daphne Heard gives an award-winning performance as 'old Nanny Webster' - with some moving scenes involving Lady Marjorie, and some 'volatile' ones with the rest of the staff at 165!

Ian Ogilvy as 'Lawrence Kirbridge' makes his final appearance in the series.

Great stuff!
