Newlyweds Gary & Wendy Cole are on their way to Las Vegas for their honeymoon when they almost collide with a tanker carrying a chemical substance. Gary gets infected when he places his injured hand on the tanker but notices no ill effects upon arriving in Sin City. It's only after winning a modest amount do things begin to unravel for Wendy. First Gary vanishes, then another couple is found staying in the newlyweds' (vastly redecorated) suite, and there's no records of the couple's reservation. Wendy becomes frantic because either the man she loves is indeed missing or she's having another nervous breakdown.
Enter Dan Tanna, whose investigation begins to reveal a vast conspiracy that stretches from on high at the behest of a US Armed Forces agency and engulfs acquaintances at the Desert Inn & even friends like Lt. Dave Nelson. Can Dan rescue Gary and reunite him with Wendy before both are worse for the wear?
Usually "Vega$" dealt with mobsters, criminals and the usual Television tropes but in this episode matters are ramped up considerably as a woman's sanity and the life of her husband are mere inconveniences in regards to one's own branch of the Armed Forces carrying out a nefarious scheme. Dan Tanna faces his biggest threat of the season as the corrupt Colonel Mitchell knows of Tanna's incorruptibility and seeks to eliminate him if he can't buy him off like the rest of the populace. The stakes feel higher as a result and at least in this incident the outcome is a happy one & justice is served.
