Widow with a mission
bkoganbing19 August 2017
The very wealthy Nina Foch becomes the talk of Medicine Bow when she arrives what with taking two rooms at the hotel paying in advance and then going horseback riding every day. She's stalking The Virginian. But James Drury is only a means to an end.

She wants Drury to take her to outlaw leader Michael Rennie where in his band of outlaws is Ed Kemmer a man who both disgraced and killed her daughter. She wants the same from him, but she starts falling in love with Rennie who's grown bored and disillusioned with the outlaw life.

Nice performances from Rennie, Foch, and Kemmer as well as Drury who goes a long way to persuading his old friend to give up the crooked life.

Story retold by "Alias Smith and Jones" as "Return to Devil's Hole" in 1971

Good enough story that the western "Alias Smith and Jones" used it almost word for word (AND the song that is sung in the background) in 1971! We KNEW it looked familiar so we checked it out, and they ARE the SAME!
