Frank McGrath gets tired of some of the riding he gets from John McIntire and
Terry Wilson so he accepts an invitation to go off with Frank McHugh and look for
his gold mine. At that point Denny Miller comes looking for his grandfather McHugh and he and Terry Wilson go off looking for these old adventurers.
The problem is that bad guy James Griffith is also looking for that gold mine and he s following McHugh and McGrath.
This episode brings Denny Miller in as new scout in training Duke Shannon. But the best part of the story are the scenes with McHugh and McGrath. McHugh who took out a patent on whimsical characters on the big screen with Warner Brothers in the 30s is at his whimsiest here.
The two Franks, McGrath and McHugh are a treasure.
