Taken from the Shoshone

Robert Loggia brushing off the accent he used playing Elfego Baca for Walt Disney is in the title role of a former heir of a California land grant and former associate of Joaquin Murietta who now lives among the Pawnees as one of them. But when Ward Bond finds him he's staked out and ready to die courtesy of the Pawnee sworn enemies the Shoshone.

Ward Bond frees him and gets the Shoshone on his case. Loggia also doesn't make a lot of friends on the Wagon Train, especially southerner Dabbs Greer and Irishman Tudor Owen and his son Tom Laughlin. But he does interest Owen's daughter Audrey Dalton.

Highlight of the story is a prize fight between Loggia and future Billy Jack Tom Laughlin. Some unorthodox moves are used by both and the outcome is an interesting one.

Loggia was always one of the most underrated and underappreciated actors ever. For fans of his in one of his earliest roles.
