One of the most amoral characters that ever appeared on a Wagon Train episode is the title character of this story. Sharon Farrell plays Pearlie Garnett, beautiful and dangerous like one of the old time movie femme fatals. Barbara Stanwyck in Double Indemnity and Jane Greer in Out Of The Past come to mind for comparison.
The story is told in flashback as to how Farrell wound up owning a big saloon. When the Wagon Train crew first run into her she's a passenger on the Train when a rash of petty thefts breaks out. No one possibly suspects her of being the culprit except Frank McGrath who is too old to be thinking with his male member. She's caught, but not before she gets middle age widower Hugh Beaumont thrown off the Wagon Train because she implicates him.
On the next trip west Denny Miller and Terry Wilson run into Farrell now owner of a large saloon. Through some more flashbacks they hear how she did it. Turns out she runs into the mother who abandoned her and now the owner of the saloon that is eventually her's. Takes a while for Marilyn Maxwell to figure it out, but it comes too late.
Hardhearted and amoral Sharon Farrell will not be forgotten by anyone who watches this Wagon Train story.
