When Jim is hung from the pole, his ankles are bound. Just after the fuse is lit, his ankles are no longer bound, even though his arms are not free.
In the third segment after James has been tied up without his jacket tie or hat and after he places Vixen in the back of the wagon he immediately climbs up front to join Artemus but is now wearing his jacket tie and hat.
Pressing the jugular vein can cause unconsciousness, but it takes about 10 seconds. It is not instantaneous. Also, if pressure is released immediately, the person will wake up in about 10 more seconds.
When West is being chased by the Indians in the opening sequence, a modern two story structure is clearly visible in the background just as he enters the fort.
A few seconds into the opening sequence, while Jim is being chased by Native Americans on horseback, the vehicle the camera is on starts kicking up dust in the riders' faces, causing them to go around it.
When Sean O'Reilley (actor Pernell Roberts) is standing behind the wagon discussing the fate of James West with Artemus Gordon, an insect slowly crawls up the front of his shirt.
(at 0:09:17) Just before the stolen cavalry wagon clears Fort Savage's gates, a white car can be seen driving by on the road just beyond what appears to be the Gilligan's Island (1964) lagoon.
When Gordon goes under cover as a rascal in the bar, he raises a ruckus and grabs a round tray full of drinks then flings it across the room. The tray is a modern plastic tray, and the plastic was not developed until the early 20th century, about 50 years after this scene took place.
This episode takes place in Washington or Idaho, near British Columbia. The Indians are referred to as the Iroquois, who occupied central New York colony prior to and during the colonial period. After the American Revolution, most of the Iroquois were relocated, primarily in Ontario, Wisconsin and the Indian Territory, which, at the time, consisted of land which is now parts of Louisiana, Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Kansas. There were no migrations of Iroquois to the Pacific Northwest. Currently, registered tribes from the Iroquois Nations live in New York, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Ontario and Quebec.
Near the beginning of the second act, West swings down from a tree and knocks two henchmen off their horses. The tree he is in appears to be a mature eucalyptus- not likely to be found in the Pacific Northwest (where this episode is supposed to set), and in the 1870s, uncommon even in California.
During the opening chase, West fires seven shots while galloping on horseback. There is no way that he could have reloaded his gun while being chased and fired at.
