This episode I'm sorry to say was written by Ken Wahl and though I can understand him wanting to express the physical and mental pain he was feeling in real life, I don't think he should have extended to process to wipe out and totally devalue, via dream sequences, the closeness of his relationship with Sonny Steelgrave, which gave us the unforgettable "Nights In White Satin" scene. That scene was a true classic and its impact should not have been lessened to nothing in this way. Nor should Vinnie's genuine and shattering grief. Shame on you Ken, and the scriptwriters who made this a reality. I was really shocked.
