Plot spun from an old Twilight Zone Episode

Surprising that I've never seen the connection drawn between this episode and a Twilight Zone episode called "the Monster are Due on Maple Street" That episode traces the growing paranoia of the residents of "postcard perfect" Maple street as they try to identify the alien among them.--one by one they turn on each other.

The alien here is a child molester his/her presence breeds the same sense of distrust among people who normally live side by side as neighbors, relatives, and friends. A

All the townspeople's dirty laundry begins to air but every person with a secret obviously is NOT responsible for abducting and murdering little girls.

In the end Maple Street isn't so perfect after all.

Warning: Spoilers
Inspired by a Twilight Zone episode, this Without a Trace episode is about a pair of young girls who make videos on their home computer of their innocent town. Once the girls go missing, small town gossip turns nasty and as Jack says, "I don't think any girls will walk the streets alone again." This episode feels rushed, like there is just too much plot for one hour. It would have been great to have the second girl disappear at the end of the first hour and give the story time to develop. The villain is almost non-existent and there isn't enough time spent on the two girls, especially the second girl. This episode really could have used a Graham Spaulding type. But, the plot is still good enough that a cliff's notes version is highly satisfactory.
