a delight for cheesy flick fans
trashgang20 January 2013
This entry is as campy and cheesy as it can get. When a gorilla is trained by the Nazis to bring back an agent who turned on them. To help them they brainwash Gargantua to go against wonder woman.

But just have a look to the gorilla itself. It's just a man in a suit and he never walks or act like a gorilla. Fighting with men or women is really cheesy and when he kidnapped the agent it's so clear to see that the gorilla is carrying a doll.

A true delight for lovers of cheesy flicks. Not only that, there are a few well known faces to recognise, for example John Hillerman ( here as Conrad Steigler) who moved further as Higgins in Magnum P.I. or Robert Loggia (Hans Eichler) known for mafia flicks or series like The Sopranos. Horror buffs will surely recognise Gretchen Corbett (Erica Belgard) from Let's Scare Jessica To death (1971) or Jaws Of Satan (1981) still unreleased on DVD.

GOOD EPISODE BUT A LITTLE RIDICULOUS
asalerno109 May 2022
Already the premise of this episode is a bit ridiculous. German counterintelligence manages to specially train a gorilla to kidnap a double agent and at the same time destroy Wonder Woman. The gorilla's costume is not so badly done but in any case you can see that he is an actor in disguise, it is also quite evident that it is a doll that he is hanging in the scene that kidnaps the double agent, the scene of the final combat between the Woman Marvel and the Nazi Spies is too simple, and the confrontation between Gargantua and our heroine is quite good. Taking into account the limitations of the time, the episode is not so bad, but seeing it today is one of those chapters that did not stand the test of time.

the monkey ruins it all
RavenGlamDVDCollector1 March 2019
This one's utterly utterly bad . With the double episode outing, at least those two episodes had the actual plane going for them to add some credibility. What do we have this time? A guy in a gorilla suit. Fine for Halloween, but really really poxy on the screen. Must say, this episode had the best facial close-ups of Linda so far.

My opinion of the show so far? It has heart, more, much more than the 2017 movie. The costume, of course, is a Christmas pudding. The 2017 version got it right. Linda's Diana is really blah! Too much blah! Off-puttingly blah! But must say, although my first impression back in the pilot was "yuck what a loser show" I have changed my opinion. Yes, there is something here. BUT for every good moment there is a bad moment as well.

As far as this episode goes, the overgrown monkey ruins it all. Felt like a fool for watching the bits inbetween the few Wonder Woman appearances. Popularity of this series was at a low ebb while watching. But good shots of Linda's face. I decided to take it in the intended spirit.

Goofs: She lands the Invisible Plane in the jungle...? Yeah, African bush is like that. SURE.

John Hillerman seemed understandably out of place, like, "what am I doing here? Somebody shoot me, please!" Actually, he could have been entirely replaced by that dummy used in his precarious action scenes.

There's no denying, this one was a bad idea from the start. Infantile, puerile, doomed. Cringe-worthy. Shares drop. But the previous outing did show anything can be expected. It can't get worse than this one...?

The best WW episode!
saltersheppard26 April 2007
Warning: Spoilers
My all time favorite! Nothing beats a slobbering, hulking, stalking gorilla pursuing a fetching super heroine. LC does an excellent job struggling, writhing and pleading with Gargantua. She grabbed, lifted, suspended, stalked and trapped. All in that drop dead gorgeous outfit.

WW is stalked at the beginning, in a jungle, then set upon by the gorilla. Later, she is lured into an abandoned warehouse. Gargantua gets her there and tries to crush her.

Toward the end he gets her in a severe 'bear hug'. WW squirms and begs fetchingly. Lynda never looked better. Nor was WW up against such a ferocious villain.

Verging on terrible

Wonder Woman vs Gargantua So bad it's not true, might have worked better with a more convincing gorilla but I doubt it. I keep expecting it to act out the famous sketch from 'Not the Nine O'Clock News'. Guest-starring John Hillerman of Magnum PI fame, weird to hear him talk with his American accent when you're so used to him as a stuffy Englishman. Very, VERY, weird clip of this on Youtube manipulated to give a radically different spin to WW's struggle with the ape. To judge by some of the comments on YouTube and IMDb a lot of people rather like this sort of thing, GOT-fetishists. Another WW double. She shows her affinity with animals for the first time 2/10
