This episode tells the story of Kevin Arnold's junior high graduation. The story provides us with Kevin and his friend Paul's preparations for the big event, with some interactions with Kevin's family. The highlight isn't the graduation ceremony, however. The sequence in which Kevin's teacher Mrs. Heimer (Wendel Meldrum) unexpectedly goes into labor and must be driven to the hospital by Kevin (who is too young to drive) in her VW Beetle is an absolute gem.
Warm, touching, and very funny, this episode is one of the top ones in the entire series. I really thought of myself at age 14 when I saw it, and I was 14 in 1971! If you only can watch one episode, make it this one. Just wonderful.
