One's best episode of second season, Lost Mariner starts when Xena and Gabrielle survive from a shipwreck, both split on water, Gabrielle ends up caught by Cecrops's cursed ship to navigate forever no entitled to dock in any harbor or even approaching on land area, under penalty of death, also the crew members, implied by a wrath of Poseidon, meanwhile Xena appears on seashore struggling against a pirates trying reach at Cecrops's ship aiming for rescue Gabrielle.

Who knows why due the curse of Poseidon nobody that get in is allowed to go back again, otherwise will be dead if trying to, on board Cecrops (Tony Todd) explains to Xena that was 300 years ageless on a everlasting journey on sea, Xena figures out an way out on the spot where Cecrops previously was cursed by Poseidon, quite sure iit can be an answer to get free of the curse, thus they headed to there meanwhile Gabrielle got a way to get rid of seasickness for a while.

Supported by a heavy CCI process on countless sequences, although on badly early process on developing process yet, far away that we used to see nowadays, also many overacted acrobatics and far-fetched jumpings by Xena, the producers should be more careful with those useless acting for its sake of own series.

You never see Cecrops and the Candyman together.

Tony Todd is Cecrops, the lost mariner forever cursed to sail forever due to the wrath of Poseidon.

When Xena and Gabrielle are shipwrecked by a pirate. Gabrielle is picked up by Cecrops. She is now destined to remain in the ship until she dies.

Xena plans to rescue Gabrielle who is suffering from sea sickness. Xena also needs to break Cecrops curse somehow.

Todd plays Cecrops has someone fun loving, unusual given he was cursed. The real villains are the pirates pursuing both him and Xena.

The special effects regarding Poseidon would had embarrassed Ray Harryhausen. Still a fun story with a lot of heart.
