In the first scene Oscar (Carry Goossens) is polishing trophies. While he does that he whistles the show's theme by Flemish composer Guido Van Hellemont, which samples Libya's former national anthem "Libya, Libya, Libya" by Egyptian composer Mohamed Abdel Wahab.
It is actually weird for Oscar and Pico to say the word "zweepstaak" ("sweep-stake") because the word "prijsvraag" ("prize question") is far more established in their language use. A loanword from around that time, the word is used for comical purposes to make Xavier, who doesn't know it, look otherworldly.
Xavier's name is mispronounced by Oscar. Oscar would go on to call him something on the line of "Sksavier" for the remainder of his time on the show. In contrast to the pilot, in which he corrects him with emphasis, Xavier acts like he got used to Oscar's error.
Episode title refers to the items bought, in an ironical way; a camcorder or video recorder, two cupboards, and many clothes in sale (translation: "Bargains").
The other players of the team, played by extras who'd often have a line of dialogue in later titles, are not seen, which is actually a rare situation. Only the main characters are seen along with two uncredited, unnamed delivery guys (also there are no guest actors, which of course is not rare).
