Fry accidentally starts a war
Tweekums27 March 2012
Warning: Spoilers
This episode opens with a flashback to the twentieth century when Fry delivers a pizza to the local FOX affiliate and ends up sipping beer with the station's operator while watching the season finale of 'Single Female Lawyer'; that is until he spills his beer on the control panel and cutting short the programme. One thousand years later the television signal reaches the planet Omicron Persei VIII where its leader Lrrr is sitting down to watch the show… he is not happy when the signal fails and heads to Earth to find out what happened. After some confusion about who exactly they are after and a space battle where Zapp Brannigan's forces succeed in destroying the Hubble telescope they realise what he want; unfortunately the original tapes were lost so Fry suggests the Planet Express crew recreate the episode.

This episode successfully spoofed the clichéd alien invasion genre with the destruction of the world's monuments, which just happen to have been moved to New New York. As always it was great to see Zapp and his sidekick Kif back; they always provide plenty of laughs. The 'Single Female Lawyer' show was clearly a spoof of 'Ally McBeal' although I don't think a viewer who hasn't seen that will be any less amused by this. Lrrr was a pretty cool character and he got a good introduction here although people who have seen later episode will know that he has better episodes later… there's something to look forward to!

'You're a brave robot, son. But when I'm in command every mission's a suicide mission'

Warning: Spoilers
During its time on the air Futurama offered many great comedy moments over the years and had a very wide scope for it writers. It became the new Red Dwarf and shows how good American animation can be, appealing to teenagers and adults.

This is a classic episode. Starting in 1999, Fry delivers pizzas to a television station and ends up knocking the series finale Sexy Female Lawyer off the air. In 3000 Fry and his friends have to battle with an alien invasion by the Omicronians. President McNeal of Earth at first attempts to give the aliens what they want before they demand McNeal leading to a great comedy moment. Fry, Leela and Bender are drafted by Zapp Brannigan and have to battle the Omicronians and Earth gets a kicking. It is after the battle that the Omicronians want to see the final episode of Sexy Finale Lawyer. Fry and friends have to make their own version to save Earth.

They are moment great comedy motions. Zapp Branningan and Kip are 2 of the best characters in the show and I love watching them. The episode is a parody of Indepedence Day, which is never a bad thing and Sexy Female Lawyer, a mick take of Ally McBeal. They are also homages to Star Wars and Star Trek and has the idea of how too much TV is a bad thing.

This episode had funny lines and physical humour, and uses Futurama's sci-fi ideas.

The One Where Aliens Invade...

Warning: Spoilers
I love this episode. It is absolutely one of my all-time favorite episodes. Not just from this season, but from the entire series.

In this episode, the aliens of Omicron Persei 8 come down to Earth, and threaten to destroy the planet, and kill everyone, if they cannot see the ending of the Season Finale of "Single Female Lawyer", which was a show from the 20th Century, that has only just made its way to their home planet. Fry was actually the one who split a drink on the broadcasting machine in 1999, and that's the reason why the show cut out. Fry, and his friends must reenact the episode, so the aliens won't harm them.

First appearance of: The Omicron Persei 8 aliens.

Best part of the episode: The Omicron Persei 8 aliens.

Overall, I give this episode a 10 out of 10, which in my ratings book is: Freaking Ridonkulous.
