- Dr. Meredith Grey: Hey.
- Dr. Derek Shepherd: Hey. You almost died today.
- Dr. Meredith Grey: Yeah, I almost died today.
- [Derek is at a loss for words and starts heading to the door]
- Dr. Meredith Grey: I can't, I can't remember our last kiss. All I could think about was, "I'm going to die today and I can't remember our last kiss," which is pathetic. But the last time we were together and happy, I... want to be able remember that, and I can't Derek. I can't remember.
- Dr. Derek Shepherd: I'm glad you didn't die today.
- [Starts to leave but stops]
- Dr. Derek Shepherd: It was a Thursday morning, you were wearing that ratty little "Dartmouth" T-shirt you look so good in, the one with the hole in the back of the neck. You'd just washed your hair and you smelled like some kind of... flower. I was running late for surgery. You said you were going to see me later, and you leaned to me, you put your hand on my chest and you kissed me. Soft. It was quick. Kind of like a habit. You know, like we'd do it everyday for the rest of our lives. And you went back to reading the newspaper and I went to work. That was the last time we kissed.
- [Derek starts to leave]
- Dr. Meredith Grey: Lavender. My hair smelled like lavender... from my conditioner.
- Dr. Derek Shepherd: Lavender. Huh.
- [Smiles then leaves]
- Dr. Miranda Bailey: O'Malley!
- Dr. George O'Malley: Yeah?
- Dr. Miranda Bailey: Stop looking at my va-jay-jay!
- Dr. George O'Malley: Yes ma'am.
- Dr. Derek Shepherd: [Asking for Meredith] Where is she?
- Dr. Richard Webber: She's right here.
- Dr. Addison Shepherd: Derek, you're okay... oh... it's going to be okay...
- Adele Webber: [to Dr. Webber] That is not the she he was asking for.
- Dr. George O'Malley: [George is behind Baily as she's giving birth, and is apparently looking at a mirror] Dr. Bailey! I can see his head! Wow, he's got a lot of hair. Oh! He's so cute!
- Dr. Miranda Bailey: *O'Malley stop looking at my va-jay-jay!*
- Dr. George O'Malley: [quickly averting eyes, meekly] Yes, ma'am.
- Dr. Meredith Grey: In hospitals they say you know, you know when you're going to die. Some doctors say it's a look patients get in their eyes, some say there's a scent - a smell - of death. Some think there's just some kind of 6th sense when the great beyond is heading for you, you feel it coming. Whatever it is, it's creepy because if you know, what do you do about it? Forget about the fact that you're scared out of your mind: if you knew this was your last day on earth, how would you want to spend it?
- Dr. Meredith Grey: Look, I can't! No, I can't. This is crazy. Burke, you're gonna go. You go. Both of you should go.
- Dr. Preston Burke: Nobody's dying today, Grey.
- Bomb Squad Captain: Meredith, I want you to look at me. Look at me. I know this is bad. And I know that I'm this ass whose been yelling at you all day. So you pretend that I'm not; you pretend that I'm someone you like, whatever you need. But you need to listen to me.
- Dr. Meredith Grey: Is this the strangest thing that's ever happened in your O.R.?
- Dr. Preston Burke: I'd have to say that it is.
- Dr. Meredith Grey: Good, 'cause I'm very competitive.
- Dr. Preston Burke: All the best surgeons are.
- Dr. George O'Malley: Dr. Bailey, I can see the top of his head! He's got a lotta hair! Oh, he's cute!
- Dr. Miranda Bailey: O'Malley?
- Dr. George O'Malley: Yeah?
- Dr. Miranda Bailey: Stop lookin' at my va-jay-jay!
- Dr. George O'Malley: Yes, ma'am
- Dr. Isobel "Izzie" Stevens: A what?
- [she is paged due to the code black herself]
- Dr. Isobel "Izzie" Stevens: Code Black? Code Red, Code Blue, Code White. I never had a code Black. Dr Shepherd?
- Dr. Addison Shepherd: Just go back to you locker room and wait for your resident to give you instructions
- Dr. Isobel "Izzie" Stevens: We don't have a Resident
- Dr. George O'Malley: What's going on?
- Dr. Isobel "Izzie" Stevens: Is it something bad?
- Dr. Addison Shepherd: [Addison does't answer until the elevator stops and they can see the chaos at the 3rd floor] Yeah it's something bad.
- Dr. George O'Malley: Dr. Bailey, I'm surprised at you. I really thought - this is not how I thought you would do this. I truly... I expected more. You're Dr. Bailey. You don't hide from a fight, you don't give up, you strive for greatness. You, Dr. Bailey... you are a doer. I know your husband's not here, and I know- there are a lot of things going on here that we have no control over. But this... this, we can do.
- Dr. Alex Karev: Who's gonna tell him?
- Dr. Isobel "Izzie" Stevens: I gave you sex in the linen closet, you tell him.
- Dr. Alex Karev: Fair enough.
- Dr. Cristina Yang: You know in the movies, how there's always the hero and then there's the other guy? You know, the guy who sees danger, and then runs in the opposite direction?
- Dr. Preston Burke: Yes.
- Dr. Cristina Yang: Be the other guy.
- Dr. Derek Shepherd: [Doing life saving brain surgery on Bailey's husband] I just don't want me known as the guy who killed Bailey's husband.
- Dr. Preston Burke: [as he's heading out the door to operate on a guy with an unexploded grenade in his chest] And I don't want to be known as the guy who killed everybody else.
- Dr. Alex Karev: Well, blood work's back. The chief has an anxiety attack. Who's gonna tell him?
- Dr. Isobel "Izzie" Stevens: Um...I gave you sex in the linen closet, you tell him.
- Dr. Alex Karev: Fair enough.
- Dr. Cristina Yang: What are you doing?
- Bomb Squad Captain: I thought Dr. Burke told you to leave.
- Dr. Meredith Grey: We're moving to an OR further away from the oxygen line... you know, in case we blow up.
