- The Mysterons second target is the Director General of the United Asian Republic. Spectrum swings into action to protect him as he prepares to board his private plane at London Airport.
- The Mysterons second target is the Director General of the United Asian Republic. The Director is on a visit to London and is scheduled to fly back to Asia via London airport but the Mysterons have other plans. After a failed assassination attempt, the Mysterons destroy and rebuild a DT-19 aircraft to aid their mission. Meanwhile Captain Scarlet returns to duty, apparently now virtually indestructible, but will this be enough to stop the Mysterons?
- At night at a high-rise apartment, outside the main window, a sniper lowers himself from the roof and enters one of the main bedrooms. The Sniper attempts to shoot the sleeping figure of the Director-General of the United Asian Republic. A shot rings out and we realize Captain Grey has killed the assassin before he can complete his mission.
The Mysterons then announce their latest plan, to assassinate the Director-General as revenge for the unprovoked attack on the Mysteron's base on Mars by Captain Black.
Colonel White calls a meeting to discuss the latest threat presented by the Mysterons. Given the previous assassination attempt, White takes the Mysterons threat very seriously. The Director-General is currently in England and due to fly home the next day. Captain Blue is put in charge of making sure the Directors' flight takes off without incident.
Captain Scarlet is in the medical facility being questioned by Doctor Fawn about events leading up to a fatal car crash that killed Captain Brown and led to Scarlet being briefly controlled by the Mysterons. Captain Scarlet now has the ability of retro metabolism, meaning he can survive any injury he may sustain. Doctor Fawn presents his findings to Colonel White, who is satisfied that Scarlet can go back to active duty. His first assignment will be to help Captain Blue and the pair soon fly off to London.
In New York international flight DT19 leaves for London under the watchful eye of Mysteron agent Capt Black
Captain Blue and Captain Scarlet land near London airport and requisition a Spectrum Pursuit Vehicle (SPV) so they can examine the route the Director will take on his way to the airport.
Over the Atlantic, DT19 suffers multiple engine failures; the crew sends out an SOS but gets no response. They find all the plane's systems have failed and are powerless to stop the craft from crashing. As the real DT19 slips beneath the waves, we see a Mysteron copy fly overhead and continue the journey to London
Meanwhile, a body double dressed as the Director travels with the official motorcade to the airport. A few minutes later the real Director boards a specially fitted tanker truck with Captain Grey and is taken separately to the airport. At the airport, everyone from Spectrum is tense as they wait to see what the Mysterons latest move will be.
DT19 begins its final approach to London, but Captain Scarlet begins to have a strange episode possibly linked to the proximity of Mysteron activity. The plane appears to land without incident until a report comes in from the terminal that the crew won't open the doors to the terminal.
Examination of the craft from the tower by the airport controller shows that the crew and passengers are gone. Before Spectrum can react, the plane suddenly powers up on its own and begins to taxi across the airport. Blue and Scarlet realize it is a booby trap designed to destroy the Directors plane. Scarlet orders the Angels to attack and destroy the plane, while he races in the SPV to try and shoot the tires.
The targeting system fails and Scarlet then attempts to ram the plane with the SPV after jettisoning Captain Blue. Scarlet eventually does enough damage to the plane's undercarriage to cause it to slew and crash on the runway. Scarlet crashes into a radar station, killing Captain Scarlet, whilst The Director's plane attempts to fly over the wreck but the plane clips the wreckage killing the Director-General. Later, Captain Blue and the Airport Controller look over the destruction whilst an ambulance takes Captain Scarlet's body away.
