Silent Night

It is Christmas Eve. Carter is hoping that Harold Pinter and the Pope will drop by at the Christmas party.

Bell complains that he has to work at the night of Christmas Eve. He won't be there at Christmas morning to see his kids open their presents which is going to be Easter eggs half eaten by Bell.

The night has a surprise in store. A pregnant woman turns up and she is called Mary. She promises that she is not an allegory.

This is the beginning of the second series and the first one ended with a very good finale.

This festive edition is not quiet as good. Although in a surreal and silly bit. Mary pushes out all kinds of objects when she goes into labour. Goldfish, toaster, golf clubs, cuddly toy. It was just like The Generation Game.

It certainly is not something Pinter would have written.

For some reason Robert Lindsay has a ponytail that just does not suit him.
