Trivia

Vancouver police closed down one of this episode's key locations, Stanley Park, when it was thought that a sniper might be at large. It actually turned out to be one of the crew's aluminum briefcases which some passing tourists mistook for a gun case. See more »

Goofs

It's entirely possible that the Colt was made for the patent was filed for and granted. Colt applied for a British patent for his revolver in 1835 and filed in American for the same invention on February 25, 1836. However, he made his first revolving gun March 5th, 1836. The Alamo fell March 6th, 1936. So the Supernatural Lore holds.

This is the original comment as posted: John says that the Colt was forged underneath Haley's Comet on the night the Alamo fell. Haley's Comet appeared on November 16 1835, the battle for the Alamo began on February 23 1836 and ended on March 6 1836. Furthermore, if we go by the date of the comet, Colt's revolver would not have even been invented yet, as he first applied for the patent on February 25 1836. See more »

Quotes

Sam Winchester: But after, we're gonna meet up, right? Use the gun *together*, right?
[pause]
Sam Winchester: You're leaving again, aren't you? You *still* wanna go after the demon alone? You know, I don't get you. You can't treat us like this.
John Winchester: Like what?
Sam Winchester: Like children!
John Winchester: You *are* my children. I'm tryin' to keep you safe.
Dean Winchester: Dad, all due respect but uh, that's a bunch of crap.
[Sam and John look at him in surprise]
John Winchester: Excuse me?
Dean Winchester: You know what Sammy and I have been huntin'. Hell, you sent us on a few huntin' trips yourself. I mean you ...

great episode, shame I missed it

This episode doesn't appear to be on the DVD collection for season one, part 2 as disc 2 ended at 19 and the next disc, 21-22. Could be just a UK thing so I have no idea wtf is going on there.

Rant over Anyway, this episode I found very interesting as they didn't have over-romantic vampires or anything like that and the vampires are quite intimidating.

Like with other monsters in this show, they are very good about how to bring them into the real world and not make them overly powerful or anything. I quite enjoyed it and have always been a fan of vampires too.
