- Homer uses Lisa (and her prognostic skills) to help him bet on football games.
- Lisa wants to spend some quality time with her father on a Sunday afternoon, but Homer is only annoyed since he is watching football (and losing money from his poorly placed bets). When a 1-900 football hotline and other resources don't work out, a desperate Homer asks Lisa for whom she thinks will win the next game. Lisa's pick turns out to be right, and Homer invites her to spend time with her on the next Sunday. Lisa's prognostic skills help Homer win a fortune from Moe in a clandestine betting pool (which Moe runs under Chief Wiggum's nose), but soon "Daddy-Daughter Day" may come to an end with Super Bowl Sunday, especially when Homer thoughtlessly plans a bowling outing with Barney on the Sunday after the Super Bowl. Lisa is crushed (and Marge outraged) to learn that Homer only created "Daddy-Daughter Day" to help him gamble, and a remorseful Homer tries to beg Lisa for forgiveness any way he can. Lisa makes the prediction that if Washington were to win the Super Bowl, she'd still love him; if Buffalo wins, Lisa will forever hate her day. Homer mopes all the way throughout the Super Bowl, but then Washington stages a late comeback to win. With her love secured, Homer decides to make good on a promise to go hiking with Lisa on the next Sunday.—Brian Rathjen <briguy_527323@yahoo.com>
- Lisa attempts to spend more time with Homer, but his attention seems moreso attracted to the current football games. When Homer attempts to place a bet on an upcoming team, he asks Lisa for help and her answer helps him to win.
Soon after, Homer finds that Lisa has an uncanny knack for picking the winning teams. Lisa soon gets caught up in the excitement with Homer, and they seem to bond over the Sunday football games, with Homer designating this time as 'Daddy/Daughter Day.'
After winning numerous bets from Moe's, Homer buys the family gifts with his winnings. When Marge questions where the extra money came from, Homer explains about Lisa helping him gamble. Marge is concerned for them, but Homer says nothing can go wrong.
At breakfast the next morning, Lisa suggests that the next Sunday instead of watching football, they go to watch the sunset. Homer then explains that he actually has plans with Barney, and that they can resume 'Daddy/Daughter Day' when the new football season starts. Lisa is then saddened to learn that Homer seemed to 'use' her instead of wanting to spend time with her.
Homer attempts to make up with Lisa, but his question on who will win the upcoming Superbowl game, causes her to become dour. Refusing to give Homer a solid answer, she tells him that if she still loves him, the winner will be Washington. If she doesn't, Buffalo will win.
Homer sadly goes to Moe's to watch the game, though given his guilt, he doesn't place a bet on the game. In the end, Washington wins, and Homer happily leaves Moe's!
Some time afterwards, Homer fulfills Lisa's wish to watch the sun set.
