I wondered whether drowning Mark's laptop was the bad thing. Garroting Super Hans with floss might have been the bad thing, but then again, so might smoking a baguette filled with joints. I even considered Jeremy sucking off Super Hans could be the bad thing. Then this came along. This is definitely the bad thing.

I'll compare this American spin off to a UK Peep Show scene...
Where the hell is the turkey?! I get that due to different types of cultures and types of American humour, they tried to do it in their own way. But I hate to say it; it didn't work!
This would be like if Jeremy didn't actually buy the organic turkey! Yeah the basic set up is there with the scenarios and characters; the few potatoes and brussel sprouts (not cauliflower); but the turkey isn't! The real meat of the show! It just seems very thin and didn't really develop the characters much, and when they tried to, it was cringy!
All I need to say is, "can you not put a muzzle on this series, please America?"

"Peep Show" is a failed pilot episode, as the networks refused to option this as a television series. While I am sure the cast and crew were bummed at the time, co-star Johnny Galecki (Mark) has to be thrilled this happened, as soon he was cast in "The Big Bang Theory"...which went on to be a huge hit. If you're curious about "Peep Show", it's currently posted on YouTube.
The pilot based on a British series of the same name, a show about two roommates who are polar opposites...a bit like "The Odd Couple". However, instead of one being a slob and the other a perfectionistic neat freak, these mismatched roomies are one who is studious and a hard worker and the other an immature slacker.
I've never seen the British series, so I really cannot compare this pilot to it. This show wasn't bad.... I particularly liked Galecki's character. The others....not so much.

I only found out this was made today (Aug 2 2022) and as a fan of the UK original AND Big Bang Theory had to watch it.
I'm not sure why it has such a low average rating. Perhaps because the humour is still on the British side and didn't go down well in the US.
Well, obviously it didn't hence not commissioned hahah!
It was weird seeing bits from several different episodes in the original bunged into this one pilot, but the vibe was right, and I think it could have grown into a half decent show.
