When the episode aired on NBC, there were several cuts to make room for commercials: Eric saying "Just remember: You've got to be calm today, for Brian's sake. It's his day."; washing his pants in the sink a second time after Maria vomits on them; an inner monologue from Eric: "Remember Eric, you've got to be calm today, for Brian's sake. It's his day. It's so important for his confidence. First time he's been on stage. Sheep number six is a really big part for him. Twelve months ago, they wouldn't even let him hand out the programs."; a scene with Eric at the train ticket booth and a foreigner asking about London Bridge; a line from Mrs. Perfect: "Yes, we saw you this morning, but you seemed so busy chasing your pieces of paper"; a longer line from Eric about Brian's role as a sheep in the school play; a different line about Brian putting things in his mouth: "The only things he should have in his mouth at that age are a lot of crappy opinions"; two from Eric's doctor: "But what's the difference between you and me? I won't let it turn my scrot sack into a deadly weapon." and "It also makes your pee look like Guinness. But then, you can't have everything."; having trouble getting out of a parking spot because the front and back cars are too close; and a brief close-up of Eric saying "Baah" while riding a girl's bike; a brief shot of Eric catching his breath after running; a scene of Mary and Dennis introducing themselves to Roger and Jean and Julia, followed by The Perfects walking in; and Eric waiting for a bus before deciding to run instead. Some scenes also have altered timing to make pauses shorter. Finally, Eric's voice was dubbed by
Hank Azaria and the intro sequence was entirely different, with new theme music and visuals to reflect the change in storyline of Eric being an American who moved to England.
