A thoroughly enjoyable episode.

I thoroughly enjoyed this episode, it's a very clever, quick moving story, one which sees Rebus caught in what seems like a series of racist killings.

A very clever story, with a surprising ending, I thought the identity of the killer was interesting, if not a massive surprise.

Terrific acting, I thought Stephen McCole was awesome as Si, however it's once again the incredible Ken Stott that stands out.

I loved the filming, it's a good few years old now, but it's shot in a very imaginative and creative way. I'm sure many viewers will look in horror at those revolting flats, unbelievably appalling.

Very good, 8/10.

The story opens with some locals being silently aggressive towards two immigrants. A policeman keeps a watchful eye.

A body of one of the dead immigrant's brings in Rebus to investigate. The dead man's family were in a detention centre.

It could be a racist killing but Rebus remarks that the graffiti to go with the dead body needed a bit more intelligence that is associated with the local racists.

Siobhan also made a promise to look into a case of a missing woman from the middle east. She also later turns up dead along later with another body.

Even though Ian Rankin has supplied some intriguing ingredients, this is a pedestrian adaptation. Ken Stott is wasted with such bland stuff. Even the killer was easy to guess.
