  Didi Pickles : Are you eating Jell-O without your teeth *again*? I insist you put them back right this minute, please!

  Lou Pickles : OK, OK, Didi! They're just behind this bowl of salad.

  [drops his Jell-O] 

  Lou Pickles : Hey! Where's my teeth? They were laying here just a minute ago!

  Didi Pickles : Now, let's not panic.

  Lou Pickles : [looks under a bowl]  I can't play my trumpet without my teeth!

  Didi Pickles : After all, how far could they have gone?

  [breaks the fourth wall] 

  Didi Pickles : Who would *want* them?

  [Stu and Drew approach] 

  Drew Pickles : What's going on?

  Didi Pickles : He lost his teeth again!

  Stu Pickles , Drew Pickles : Oh, no!

  Didi Pickles : Now, think for a moment, Pop. What was the last thing you did with your teeth before you lost them?

  Lou Pickles : Well, just took 'em out to have a bite of your salad, and then... Uh-oh.

  [they look at the salad] 

  Stu Pickles , Drew Pickles , Didi Pickles : Eww!

  [a soldier looks into the salad, which bubbles, covers his mouth and runs away gagging; Stu rolls up his right sleeve, closes his eyes and dips his hand in] 

• [first lines; Lou plays a trumpet; Tommy and Chuckie watch from their playpen] 

  Tommy Pickles : Doesn't Grandpa blow his trumpet good?

  Chuckie Finster : Yeah! He sounds better than a car horn!

  [Lou finishes; everyone applauds] 

  Didi Pickles : That was wonderful, Pop!

  Stu Pickles : Yeah, those new dentures sure make the difference.

  Lou Pickles : Yep. Glad I had a new set made. Don't think I could've played my horn with the old pair.

  [adjusts them] 

  Lou Pickles : Still feel kinda funny, though. Maybe I'll take 'em out for just a sec so I can partake of some of Didi's famous potato salad.

  [Didi gasps] 

  Stu Pickles : Pop, don't!

  Didi Pickles : Remember what happened *last* time you took your teeth out?

  Lou Pickles : Wasn't *my* fault Drew knocked 'em into the spaghetti sauce! In my day, people watched where they lay their elbows!

  Drew Pickles : It was the Jell-O mould, Pop, and *you* knocked 'em in.

  Stu Pickles : [points]  Hey, Drew, check it out. That guy brought one of those new gas-powered turbo barbecues!

  Drew Pickles : Really?

  [looks back at Lou] 

  Drew Pickles : Just do us all a favour, Pop, and keep 'em in your mouth until you're home!
