Bob loves his new floors in their apartment. They are a birthday present from his wife Kaye. His daughter Trisha gives him a poncho. Bob wants no more birthday surprises but unbeknownst to him, Kaye has an even bigger surprise waiting for him when he gets off work. Trisha runs up the stairs at their work building to get some exercise on the way up to their department. Bob tries to keep up with her in vain and ends up giving himself a migraine headache. He deals with his headache as people keep singing him Happy Birthday in the office. At home, Bob tries to rest his throbbing head but Kaye unleashes her surprise on her unsuspecting husband. Bob is having a fiesta and Kaye has hired Flamenco dancers to entertain. They dance and scuff up Bob's new floors as he pretends to enjoy it despite his discomfort. Bob makes an excuse and leaves the room to press two ice cube trays to the side of his head to sooth the pressure. Bob goes back to his party and they blindfold him so he can break open an pinata. Bob swings and knocks all of the dishes off of the wall and then ends up hitting his head on the wall. After the Flamenco couple leave, Trisha extracts Bob's present from the pinata for him. Bob admits to Kaye that he has a headache which is followed by a surprise that even Kaye hadn't had planned. This episode is great. Bob is a highly underrated series. I think that this series is better than Newhart but not as good as the Bob Newhart Show. However, this episode ranks right up there with the best of the Bob Newhart Show. This reminds me of one of my favorite episodes from the original series Let's Get Away From It Almost. The one at the Ski Lodge but this episode has its own unique spin on things. There are some fantastic sight gags and everyone's chipper moods acts as great contrast to how Bob is feeling. 10 stars
