The main plot thread involves Jill physically and mentally torturing Cathy in a variety of outrageous ways before hosting the dinner party from hell. The brutal gags fly thick and fast in these scenes, with virtually everything that comes out of Jill's mouth either cringe inducing or darkly funny. Also, her reaction to Terry's latest prognosis is a priceless character comedy moment.
For me the b-plot involving Linda is okay, but it starts to wear thin after a while.
Julia Davis is on great form as ever, plus Rebecca Front and Mark Gatiss give strong support.
