The 30-minutes certainly doesn't lack character color. The Nobles are a formerly wealthy family now on the downslide. Old lady Noble (Dale) is bed-ridden and needs a volunteer nurse. Pam's doing charity work and takes the assignment. Trouble is the old lady's got a witchy old-maid daughter, Anne (Jewell); a weirdo son, Emerson (Farley); and a feisty daughter-in-law, Constance (Ankers). Between them, a constant battle is going on. Rumor has it that the old lady's got a load of cash hidden from her quarreling heirs. So naturally a whodunit develops involving the charmingly headstrong Pam, while Jerry is dragged along.
It's a better than average episode, with Denning playing alongside his real life wife Ankers-- good thing Pam doesn't notice! But what's with weirdo Farley's outstretched neck, like he's sniffing air before passing through. Good to see movie vet Jewell picking up a payday even in an unflattering role. There's some whodunit suspense, but the emphasis is clearly on character color of which there's a lot.
