Episode 6 "Bill and Margaret's Excellent Adventure"
kevinolzak24 May 2010
This sixth episode begins the morning after Bill's sexual encounter with wife Margaret, discovered by maid/detective Charlotte ("looks like the velvet was rubbed right off, a kind of back-and-forth friction... now I'm no animal expert, but it looks to me like the back of it was mauled by a puma! You and Mrs. Powers are lucky to be alive sir!"). While he still feels the afterglow, the unresponsive Margaret has too much to do to bother sharing any more intimacy with her husband of 37 years. Bradley prances around the office, trying to pass a kidney stone (Sophie: "how do you feel?" Bradley: "like I'm giving birth to Ernest Borgnine!"). A jealous Jordan discovers Margaret's panty hose in the office and confronts Bill about what happened (Jordan: "wait a minute...are you saying that you had sex with your wife? What kind of man are you? Are you telling me that this is more than just a one night stand?"). Bill immediately phones his wife at home ("Margaret, I am not ready to forget about what happened last night...it's Bill!"). When things don't quite work out, he returns to the angry but pacified Jordan ("now it's enough, you weren't saying that's enough when you were running into the cold shoulder at home when my arms were the only things keeping you warm...it's such a shame that she can no longer give you the things you need, the tenderness, the warmth, the passion...what I'm saying sweetheart is this is where I came in!"). Caitlyn continues to get phone calls from Joe Bowman, and Bradley continues to believe he's going to die ("my doctor gave me these wonderful pains for the pills!"). We last see Bradley cleaning Senator Powers' window from the outside ("check under your hood sir!"). Neither David Hyde Pierce nor Joseph Gordon-Levitt appear in this one.
