Warning: Spoilers
A new menace named Mysterio (who looks like Leonard Nimoys' Mr. Spock when not wearing his mask) is on the scene. After framing Spider-Man for a museum robbery, he presents Jameson with an offer: he'll kill Spider-Man for a hefty fee. Jameson, still utterly convinced that Spidey is the true menace, agrees after some hesitation.

The first single-story episode in the series' run, this episode is a total hoot. Mysterio does have some pretty impressive abilities, which he's eager to show off in a showdown on the Brooklyn Bridge. But, as Spidey is quick to point out, Mysterios' power is artificial, while Spidey's is natural.

Best of all is the hilarious climactic donnybrook between hero & villain, which ends up interrupting a movie shoot (a Western, no less). And the director is so entertained that he urges the camera to keep rolling!

Fortunately for Spidey (who makes some of his standard wisecracks), he's once again dealing with a villain with an over-inflated ego, which could prove to be Mysterios' downfall.

The coda is also priceless, as Spidey ensares Jameson in some webbing to try to convince the publisher to retract his inflammatory statements.

Eight out of 10.
