Barney and Thelma Lou have a fight and that leads to a comedic chain reaction. Andy is consoling Barney and says something that is in confidence. Barney misinterprets it and Thelma gets furious, suddenly very upset with Andy. The episode involves sparring and jockeying back and forth.

Andy has the patience of a saint with Barney

This episode defined the Barney & Andy characters. Barney is so erratically complex. With many character flaws. Andy is like a rock. Interesting how the writers play Andy steady, and resolute. But, Barney there are no limits to his stupidity, character flaws, and outright being a huge pain in the neck.
Thelma Lou & Helen's feud show us sides of them not seen before. Didn't add up Andy & Helens tiff. Didn't seem there was much to be mad about between them.
A good episode being how unique it was. Strangely, not really a lot of huge laughs. Elxcept for some of the strange things Barney said. Like scolding Andy for getting involved in other couples problems.
Great singing by Andy Griffith in a very good epilogue..

This another episode that has it's moments but I don't think it's that good.
Another episode that deals with the ups and downs of Barney and Thelma Lou . After a handful of episodes following Barney and Thelma Lou Phfftt they either acted like nothing ever happened or didn't focus on the relationship. This episode they had another tiff between them this time over Barney's idea of courtship and low budget evenings. Unfortunately not only does Barney drag Andy into but he gives Thelma Lou the wrong information on something Andy said upsetting Thelma Lou . From there Thelma Lou drags Helen into it . I honestly found Barney and Thelma Lou pretty irritating in this one . Sadly it's something of a relief they aren't around much longer. Sad too because the following seasons only have a handful of good episodes . Andy is getting grumpier as the years go on but here he tries hard to keep his temper and tries to be reasonable.
