Bud and Lou offer to move Mrs. Bronson's (Sara Haden) tightly parked car, but end up damaging her bumper. She is angered and informs Mr. Fields that she wishes to move. Mr. Fields reassures her that the matter can be straightened out and that he is going to redecorate her apartment as soon as he finds paperhangers. He volunteers Lou and Bud for the job, offsetting some of their back rent. They make a damaging mess of things and now owe Mr. Fields more money than before. Bud schemes to place an empty wallet on the sidewalk and trick men to thinking it's theirs and give a reward. It backfires with the first man who throws Bud through the window of Shipwrecked Brodies Bar and Grill. Mr. Brodie (Robert J. Wilke) makes Bud and Lou work in the restaurant to pay off damages. Mayhem ensues.
Season two opens with a number of changes. There's a new opening and gone are the short on-stage skits. It aids an effort to tighten up the plot, but reshapes what made the show so unique.
