When Soloway goes to the door as if to go out after filling in the form, there is a woman in her thirties sitting in a particular chair, but when the angle changes, and he walks past the same chair to position himself against the wall, a different, younger lady, named Miss Small, is sitting there, whose hair is longer, and clothing different.
The setting of this story has been established previously to be the US State of Massachusetts in New England, but it was filmed in both California and Canada. Now Massachusetts is not a community property state, but one of common law, and one assumes that was still the case in the mid eighties. It may be, that since most of this is filmed in California, which is one of only nine community property states in the Union, the writers got confused.
