Detective Laird is not wearing the correct badge. He is with the Nassau County Police Department but is shown wearing an NYPD detective shield. The detective's shield for the Nassau County Police looks similar to the city police shield, same design and color but the coat of arms in the center is different. The NYPD coat of arms is a shield with a man and a woman standing on either side and an eagle perched on top. Nassau County Police Department's coat of arms is a lion standing on its hind legs with a long protruding tongue. Detective Laird's shield does not have the lion coat of arms in the center.
