- Nyssa: [watching Adric trying to fly the TARDIS] Stay calm. Why won't it work?
- Adric: Perhaps I'm pushing the wrong buttons.
- Nyssa: Maybe she WAS damaged by the booster.
- Richard Mace: [watching the TARDIS fade in and out of the manor] What IS this?
- The Doctor: It may be the only glimpse you even get of my TARDIS.
- Nyssa: Try and think what the Doctor would do if he were here.
- Adric: He'd probably get angry.
- Nyssa: I said empathize, not be silly.
- [Adric thinks for a moment]
- Adric: Got it!
- [Adric pounds the console with his fist and it works]
- The Doctor: How you felling?
- Richard Mace: What happened?
- The Doctor: Steady. You'll be all right.
- Richard Mace: How do you know that?
- The Doctor: [as if it's so obvious] I'm the Doctor.
- The Doctor: How do you feel now?
- Tegan: Groggy, sore and bad-tempered.
- The Doctor: Oh, almost your old self.
- Richard Mace: I once knew a French acrobat. He wasn't very good at tumbling but his skill with a piece of bent iron was phenomenal. Luckily he passed his skill onto me, which enabled me to extricate my fee from the strongboxes of more than one disreputable theater manager.
- [With difficultly, the TARDIS materializes inside the manor house]
- Tegan: [to the Doctor] At last! You really should get this crate serviced, you know?
- Nyssa: Where are we going?
- The Doctor: In search of our Terileptil.
- Adric: You know where he is?
- The Doctor: [contemptuously] Yes, yes, that's why I'm searching.
- The Doctor: When a Miller's wagon stands outside a bakery, it isn't hard to deduce where the Miller is.
