Always did like "Scooby's Gold Medal Gambit" as a child, especially for the villain and one scene. "Scooby Roo" was seen quite a lot later, actually one of the last episodes of 'The Scooby and Scrappy Doo Show' seen (back when cartoons were shown on weekend mornings on Freeview channels and the show when a show that mixed gameshow, music performing and cartoons aired) so it was not watched in the right episode order.

Of the two, "Scooby's Gold Medal Gambit" is the better one still through young adult eyes and the things that stood out as a child still do and even more so. One of the best episodes of 'The Scooby and Scrappy Doo Show'. Not that "Scooby Roo" isn't worth watching, it is and has a good deal to recommend if falling short on the mystery factor. Neither one of the best or worst of the show. As far as the double bills of 'The Scooby and Scrappy Doo Show' go, this is one of the better faring ones as the divide in quality between the two episodes isn't as big as some of the others.

"Scooby Roo" (6/10)- Slightly mixed on to quite liked this, quite pleasant if forgettable. Loved the Australian setting. The dog was a nice supporting character and funny in regard to the food. The Neanderthal unsettles as a villain and there is great character interaction with him, Shaggy and Scooby that reminds one of previous Scooby Doo incarnations. The photo clue was a good one and was not expecting the reason for them not coming out. Animation, music and voice acting didn't bother me at all and the gang are on great form.

Did feel though that the episode felt too short and rushed, especially towards the end, with a plot that never really develops. The perpetrator to me was obvious with the clues easy to figure out and add up. The humour amuses but it's never hilarious or standout worthy and there could have been more.

"Scooby's Gold Medal Gambit" (8/10)- As said, like this a lot. The villain the Chameleon is a great villain and different, the very meaning of master of disguise and there are some real memorable disguises here. Especially as Scooby and when the gang accuses the wrong person of being him in a clever twist. Liked the jokes too, the Worcestershire sauce one could easily have been repetitive which is a danger with running gags but just about had enough variety. The plot is a lot of fun, full of energy, makes the most of a setting that is perfect for the franchise and absolutely loved the fake Scooby scene, one of the best and cleverest scenes of the show to me. Again the animation, music and voice acting didn't bother me.

Actually found very little to complain about, but it to me did run out of steam a little at the end, with it feeling unimaginative and not with the same thrill sensation as what came before, where the episode seemed in a rush to wrap things up.

Overall, mixed on one episode and really liked the other. 7/10.
