Another singing-competition series could be making its way across the pond. Lion Television USA has acquired exclusive U.S. rights to The Singing Estate, a reality format that recently debuted on the U.K.'s Five channel. The company, a division of U.K.-based Lion Television, acquired the rights from sister company North One TV U.K. (both are part of U.K.-based All3Media International), with plans to adapt the format for U.S. audiences. The British version of the show, which premiered June 11, revolves around aspiring singers who audition to be selected by conductor Ivor Setterfield for a chance to perform as a group at London's Royal Albert Hall and sing with U.K. group G4.
