I nearly came to this movie by accident. I had nothing to do on the Champs Elysées avenue... only snooping around among the tourists. So I went into the theatre to see this picture. And I was not disappointed. On the contrary. I am not used to comedies, far from that. But this one is not boring at all. First I love Paris , its streets, its perfume, its settings, and in the movie you can feel it, you can smell it.
The characters are convincing. Three lonesome men who meet also by accident. An ex con, a young man suffering because of a brain tumor, and a guy who has just been thrown by his wife. This latest guy is a really pin in the ass for the two first. The perfect asshole, dick head, who speaks unceasingly to say only crap. The guy I wouldn't wish anyone to meet. The guy anyone would like to kill to make him shut his mouth up !!! Even in the audience. Me first !!!
The story is interesting because it shows us how these three men learn to appreciate themselves.
There is of course a wink at LA TRAVERSEE DE Paris, the french masterpiece starring Bourvil and Jean Gabin, which tells the same kind of story, during WW2.
The film I comment is a very sensitive one. It makes you consider many things on the meaning of life.
