Warning: Spoilers
Warning do not read unless seen episode.

This is part two in the arc and we see the Rangers have fraked up bad and now their paying the penalty, by living in a world of darkness. I really like that we see the episode in black and white which is surreal for a "Power Rangers" show but that was really cool, it kinda reminded me of the film "Plesentville". It kinda makes sense in a way, a world of darkness would mean no color would exist.

But this Dark World is also an alternate world, much like with "Back to the Future Part 2" we see a world where the Power Rangers literally don't exist, it's literally Hell on Earth. Everything is in ruin and decay, not just is human freedom trashed but everything that brings joy is taken away or destroyed. I'll admit it was kinda sad just seeing the Record Store Boss reduced to a burned out shell of a man craving any kind of music which has now became scarce. It's the same even with the sourceress and Clare whom are also shadows of the magical light they once wielded.

The Rangers have only one chance which is to come to the Councel of Magic to be judged in order to regain their powers, but throughout the journey their tested. Really like the fight with the undead warriors in the Desert area even the music was kinda cool, this is probably one of my favorite ranger battles because it's definitely one of the longest but the chirography was just excellent and the battle has a different feel to it because each of the characters had to deal with the warriors individually which meant different types of fights for each of them.

Even like the fantasy landscape they venture to from the desert to the land where the Councel resides it sort of like something out of a Felini film. However what's interesting about the journey is each of the situations are suttle lessons for the Rangers. From the battle with the undead was a lesson in dealing with situations not as Rangers but as people.

And then there was the doors, we then see them open one of the doors and it leads straight home where there is color and everything is normal. But then they stop themselves from going knowing that is not their true destination but it is straight to the council. They close that door and go to the other one which leads them in the right direction. That moment I felt presented a little growth to the Rangers, showing their starting to learn their lesson on not taking the easy way out and a little about responsibility. Even if they went in the door home they still wouldn't get their powers back and Imperious and his army of darkness would still be out there and take over once more. So they have to take the hard way because they not just owe it to others but themselves.

We then of course see the court case, which I'll admit is a first in the franchise. And for a while it looks like it's going pretty well as the Rangers present strong arguments. But then unfortunately they blow it when we see their not claiming responsibility for their actions. We see the Rangers haven't learned enough, that their still being weak people. Their still giving into desperation taking the easy way out hoping their get their powers back in a hurry, believing magic will fix everything.

After their invalid argument, the council punishes them by sending them back into world which is still dark and dreary. In the end the Rangers really have no one to blame but themselves; by letting go of responsibility they've let their world plunge into darkness.
