The school does not teach Ddriver's Ed using simulators, or a real car on a closed source or out in public. Instead, they teach the class completely indoors in the school hallways using some kind of small shuttle cart which no real public school would use.
If Slater is already a skilled driver who is going to take and presumably pass his Driver's Test then why is he wasting time and money taking Driver's Ed class? --- It is commonly known that taking a drivers education course in a high school does aid in getting better rates for car insurance for the teen driver.
