The dispatcher relayed the ballistics information only hours after the first murder victim had been discovered and within minutes after the second victim was found in the park. The determination that both murders had been committed with the same gun could not have possibly been made in such a short time. The bullets had most likely not even been removed from the bodies.
As Stone is being arrested, a dog appears in the upper left of the screen. It can be seen barking several times but the barks are not heard until several seconds later.
While at the hotel discussing the case with Sgt. Williams, Mathews says the manager gave them a lead on a suspect, "a guy by the name of Manson" and then goes on to describe someone named Les. Manson was the murder victim they had already identified by name.
