- Goliath: [as Elisa leaves for work] I'll go with you perhaps I can learn something.
- Elisa Maza: [sarcastically] Why not? My car's big. I'm sure my partner won't notice you.
- Lexington: Goliath, you told Coldstone that gargoyles protect.
- Hudson: Like we breathe boy, you know that.
- Brooklyn: But... what do we protect?
- Hudson: The clock tower!
- Goliath: No. That is merely were we sleep. This island, Manhattan, this is our castle. From this day forward we protect all who live here, human and gargoyle alike.
- Goliath: Is it not time for you to go on duty?
- Elisa Maza: Yeah, guess it's time for a little of the old "protect and serve."
- Goliath: [intrigued] "Protect and serve?"
- Elisa Maza: The police motto. It's what I live for.
- Goliath: Protect whom? And serve how?
- Elisa Maza: The people. The honest citizens. We try to protect them and serve them, and we do the same for each other.
- Goliath: You mean, the police. Your clan.
- Elisa Maza: Right, my clan... who will disown me if I don't get to work.
- Broadway: Going to the movies, Hudson. Wanna come along?
- Hudson: Thank you, lads, but no. Why go out in the snow to see something that will be on cable soon enough? Besides, someone has to stay here and guard our home.
- Brooklyn: [laughs] Hudson, we live above a police station. What could happen?
- Hudson: You know the old saying - a gargoyle can no more stop protecting the castle...
- Hudson, Brooklyn, Broadway, Lexington: than breathing the air.
- Brooklyn: Yeah, yeah.
- Lexington: We know.
- Brooklyn: We've heard that one before.
- Lexington: We don't even live in a castle anymore.
