- Knucklehead: Knock, knock.
- Conky: Oh, it's Knucklehead, Pee-wee.
- Pee-wee: Can you answer it, Conky?
- Conky: Yes, I can.
- Pee-wee: WILL you answer it, Conky?
- Conky: I don't know, will I?
- Knucklehead: Knock, knock.
- Pee-wee: ANSWER THE DOOR, CONKY!
- Pee-wee: Stories never make me sleepy.
- Miss Yvonne: Once upon a time...
- [Pee-wee immediately falls asleep]
- Ricardo: [checks Pee-wee's temperature] Hmm, your temperature's just a little bit above normal. That means you have a little fever, but nothing serious. Still, you should take it easy today so you don't really get sick.
- Pee-wee: Okay, Ricardo. I sure don't want to be sick. I'll take it easy all day.
- Ricardo: Good. And be sure to drink lots of liquids like fruit juice. That's always good if you're coming down with something.
- Miss Yvonne: You know, sometimes when we're sick, we're not as neat as we'd like to be. One time when I had the flu, I let my dirty dishes pile up clear to the ceiling.
- Pee-wee: [in the bathroom] What did you do?
- Miss Yvonne: I bought new dishes.
- Pee-wee: I love that story!
- Miss Yvonne: How's Pee-wee feeling, Magic Screen?
- Magic Screen: He's not feeling very well, Miss Yvonne, but we're all helping him out.
- [everyone screams]
- Pee-wee: Stop all that screaming! Can't you people have a little consideration?
- Ricardo: I brought some huge rubber bands for your rubber band ball, Pee-wee. Shall I put them on for you?
- Pee-wee: Sure, go ahead. I can't do anything anyways. I'm sick. You know, sometimes when you're sick, you don't feel like putting rubber bands on your rubber band ball. YOU DON'T FEEL LIKE DOING ANYTHING AT ALL!
- [Ricardo gets stunned]
- Pee-wee: [softly] I'm awfully sorry, Ricardo. You see, sometimes when we're sick, we snap at people when we don't mean to. Our emotions are awfully close to the surface. You understand, don't you?
- Ricardo: Oh, sure I do, Pee-wee.
- Pterri: Hello,Pee-wee. What are you eating? Got anymore?
- Pee-wee: Mmm-mmm-mmm-mmm!
- Ricardo: Pee-wee can't talk right now, Pterri. I'm taking his temperature.
- Pterri: Oh. Well, while you're doing that, can I please have some of what he's eating?
- Ricardo: He's not eating anything. That's a thermometer.
- Pterri: Oh. Well, it looks delicious!
- Silver Fish: If Pee-wee's taking it slow, I'd hate to see him on a fast day.
- Gold Fish: If you ask me, he's fishing for a really bad cold.
- [both Fish laughb]
- Knucklehead: Knock, knock.
- Conky: Who's there?
- Knucklehead: Stan.
- Conky: Stan who?
- Knucklehead: Stan back! I'm gonna sneeze! aaa-choo!
- [Conky closes Knucklehead's barn door]
- Ricardo: Hey, what's the matter, Pee-wee?
- Pee-wee: I don't know, Ricardo. I feel kind of funny. I woke up this morning with a scratchy throat. I've been trying to ignore it.
- Ricardo: Hey, maybe your body is trying to tell you something, Pee-wee.
- [feels Pee-wee's forhead]
- Ricardo: Hmm, you feel a little warm to me. Maybe we ought to take your temperature and see if you have a fever.
- Pee-wee, Conky: Here's the thermometer, Ricardo.
- Ricardo: Gracias, Conky.
- Randy: Achoo. Achoo.
- Pee-wee: Randy, cover your mouth. You're spreading germs.
- Randy: No, I'm not.
- Pee-wee: Yes, you are.
- [Randy coughs]
- Pee-wee: Randy, please! I don't want to catch another cold. Please cover your mouth.
- Randy: I'm sorry, Pee-wee. Hey, I got a secret.
- [Pee-wee leans in, and Randy coughs into Pee-wee's ear]
- Pee-wee: RANDY! AH! GERMS! AH! HELP! GERMS!
- Randy: [laughs] I'm not really sick. I faked you out.
- [everyone screams]
- Ricardo: Está lista la sopa. Soup's on.
- Pee-wee: Mmm, boy, am I hungry.
- Ricardo: Bueno, that's a very good sign, Pee-wee.
- Pee-wee: It is?
- Miss Yvonne: Yes, it means you're getting better.
- Pee-wee: Hmm, gee, just when I was beginning to have fun.
- Ricardo: Cuidado, la sopa está caliente. The soup is very hot, so watch out.
- [everyone screams]
