Compo playing Bill Owen
cp-779-68740723 June 2018
Warning: Spoilers
A clever script. Do watch through to the end where Compo is on the church hall stage singing not in the style of Compo as one might expect but in the recognisable style of Bill Owen (albeit wearing a woolly hat).

Ordeal by Trousers

Foggy's reputation for tall jungle war stories precede him. The library regulars just want to read the papers not be annoyed by the tall lying one. Jim Bowen makes a cameo as a security guard who throws him out of the library.

Ivy and Nora Batty are looking for volunteer for a church concert, they are not keen the usual performers. Writer Roy Clarke has done this kind of episodes before. Howard and Pearl plan to perform as a pantomime horse, it is the only way they can be together.

Compo, Clegg and Foggy decided to perform, at least it gives actor Bill Owen another opportunity to do a turn which he always seemed to enjoy. Foggy however steals the show as due to all his jungle stories, Compo had put a creepy crawly down his trousers.
